When two sessions combine..

There are many times my clients ask for a specific type of photography session and mention that they want to do a separate session later. I always offer "Why not do both in the same session?!" We've already picked the time, the location, and if weather permits we have an hour or more to get all the poses down!
Most times, the sessions spotlight an occasion or a milestone. That is just a matter of swapping out a few small props or trading a sweater for a scarf, or losing the shoes if you're on the beach, but the people and the general happy feeling stays the same!
For this session, we were aiming for a Mommy and Me themed shoot. But this little miss had just turned one and they thought a first birthday session at the beach would really sum up their time on the west coast best- they are deploying to Japan in just a few months.
It was really important for me to capture as many images for this family as I could. I want them to be able to move and start their next great adventure with some beautiful California images to take with them to put up in their new space.
These a just a few of my favorites! I am still swooning over all that sunset and salty water...
